We believe....

As United Methodists we believe worship is vital for the life of the church.  The gathering of the people of God for worship is indispensable for Christian fellowship and spiritual growth.

About our Worship Services**

The 10:00am worship service is traditional in style and is often filled with music from our church choirs and additional special music.  A message is given relating the Bible to everyday life.  Sunday School is offered for children ages 4+ and a nursery is open for families (not staffed).  The congregation is encouraged to share joys and concerns which are gathered in a pastoral prayer for our church, our community, and our world.

Children and Worship

Children are an important part of our church family!  Though we believe children are an important part of our church family, we also believe it is important for children to be engaged directly on Sunday mornings.
Sunday school is offered for children ages 4+ at our 10:00am worship services.  Children are encouraged to join other children in the fellowship hall to hear a Bible story and engage in a fun craft.
Children's activity bags are available in the main entry from the ushers.  We also have a nursery located on the main floor behind the front of the sanctuary.

Holy Communion

At the 10:00am worship service, Holy Communion is served generally the first Sunday of each month and administered by intiction (dipping the bread in the cup).  We use both whole wheat and gluten-free bread along with grape juice for our communion elements.  All are welcome to receive both the bread and the cup.

We believe Baptism is an outward and visible sign of an inward, spiritual grace.  Through Baptism we are adopted into the family of God and made part of the Body of Jesus Christ.  As United Methodists, we practice both infant Baptism and adult (believers) Baptism.  If you are interested in speaking with Pastor Brian Johnson about Baptism, please contact the church office at (248) 627-3125 to schedule an appointment with him.

Weddings and Funerals

The people of Ortonville United Methodist Church are honored and proud to extend the hospitality of Jesus Christ in serving the needs of our community and beyond through hosting weddings, funerals, and other community functions.  If you have such a need, please contact our church office at (248) 627-3125.
